i have a 06 raptor 700 and i ride with 450 guys. i love my quad because im a taller guy and the raptor feels right for me. i ride all kinds of different trails and it feels great. if i were to buy another quad it would deffinetly be a raptor. my parents have the 08 models with the gas pressure shocks up front and maybe its me but they ride a little bit smoother than my 06. i love my quad and would get it again. good luck on getting one if you choose to :D

Just my two cents, but I'm short and I hate the raptor700 that my best friend has. I've ridden her bike on the trails at duck creek, and at Dumont and it sucks for females of my stature. I also hate the way they sound. Hers is stock, so if you get a pipe I'm sure it'll sound different. Hers rattles. It's pretty fast, but her husband's got 120 pounds on her, and his trx450 has a hot cam and high compression piston and it spanks hers up the hill.

I hate the 700. The 350 on the other hand, is better for shorter people. I'm just giving the opinion for your wife. Don't know what her stature is. But hey, ultimately, it's your bike. Get what YOU wanna ride. :fart:

I love my Raptor, bought new in 07 and haven't looked back since. I have ridden it a lot in the dune, but quite a bit in the mountains as well, Uintahs and down in the desert. Great all around bike. The power is there if you need it, but if you need to put around on some slower trails it works just fine. My wife also bought one of her own a she really likes it too, she is about 5'4". Dollar for dollar I don't think there is a better option. I am a bit biased though.

I was hoping someone would list some of the negatives of the 700 as no machine is perfect. Since I've been riding a 400ex for the last 11 years I'm pretty experienced in not being the first one to the top of the hill. I'll have to have the wife ride it first to see what she thinks as she's only 5'2".

my only beef with the raptor is how high they sit. i am 6'2" and i feel tall and tippy but i love the lower stance of my yfz! but the raptor has torque so your wife could run it around and not have to worry about shifting as much.

This guy will go $5600 for both and he'll deliver them. Both are piped and have a chip. One has hot cames. I'm thinking I might get them.

Yeah i hate when that happens, there was a guy that was selling a ds650 for like $900 on ksl. I happen 2 notice it when it had been posted less then a minute. So I called for like 1.5 hours, pretty much none stop. I think I broke his will and he finally answered and admited it was fake.
