I have a TRX450 and I need to replace the head gasket. While I have the head off I have been thinking about some valve work. I read your post on the engine builds that said honda valves wear fast, my valves probably have 100-120 hours on them, should I replace/upgrade them? What is your opinion/suggestion on +1 exhaust valves?

Also, what would be gained by having a 3 angle or 5 angle valve job? I really don't even know what this is, but it is being offered by a lot of engine builders so I am curious.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

stock ti valves dont last long most of the time 100 to 150 hours

after market ti valves should last 200 to 250 hours
with good springs 250 to 300 hours

stainless valves will last 300 to 500 hours
springs must be changed with the use of any steal valve.

+1 ex valve will have more top end hp and will rev a little faster

stock ex valve will make more tq at a lower rpm

a good 3 angle valve job is the best i have found on an intake port
a 3 angle can be 30/45/60 degrees 45 is the valve seal

a 5 angle valve job so far that i have found does not show a gain
the seats ars too small to get 5 angles no the seat properly
15/33/45/54/65 degrees

ex ports seats should be a radius seat when there is room for it

if you have any more questions i would be happy to help

stock ex valves are good valves thay will last.
and they work well with a good port work

if you are happy with the power of your engine
save your money to ride it more that will make you happier

or save for the A-Arms shocks and an axel
that will put a bigger smile no your face then more engine work will
good suspension is a wonderfull thing to have you dont have let the gas off.
so you can go faster and when you get home from riding you are not as sore.
