So I finally retrieved my little motor cycle from my dads tool shed. This was my first motorized ride given to me from "santa" on my 8th christmas. It started needing some and or a lot of TLC back in 99' and never got it. Mostly because I was deep into my teens then and just didnt make time for it as i was over sized for it and had other things to do. You know, teenager stuff :slap2: any way, it sat in the shed for years before my sister decided that she wanted to mess with it as her boyfriend at the time was getting into stuff like this and had a neighbor who worked on small motors. Well that never went through and it sat uncovered and in the open on the side of his house for a couple years. I did not know this else i would have went and got it. So push come to shove the weather had its fun with the poor little thing and after a few years it finally made it back to my dads tool shed. I decided its time to let it know I have not forgotten all the fun we had and I am making it a new (of many) project to revive the little thing. Gna be slow due to funds but its in motion. Want to pass it on to my boy for his first ride. I see that quite a few of you on here know a thing or too bout classic projects so feel free to offer input on locating parts and things to go through. Its a 1985 z50r. I know all the cables are seized as they will not move. You will see from the pics below that the seat pad is no longer and a new chain and front tire are on the list to be replaced. Last it ran was in 1999' but ran good just needing some carb attention. I can still kick the motor over but of corse with the bad gas, plug, carb etc. it wont start. Anyway, im just excited to have it back.

Looks like a little sweetheart man! good luck getting it going!

There's nothing like putting some work into something that has old emotional ties, I wish I still had my LT80 to build/restore for my boy. I'm sure you'll enjoy the crap out of this project!!

Keep us updated :wooter:

PS> I'm moving this to the mini section...

At the rate the little guy is rowing one might have their doubts. It will get done though because I want to ride it myself :headbang: Hard to say but I think this is going to take priority over the warrior. Which I have some plans for this winter. Goal is to have something going on both by spring.

So started getting into it yesterday. Carb is in surprisingly good condition. Lots of varnish from the gas thats just been sitting in there for the last 10 years. didnt pull the head but it looks good through the plug. Get a good spark though needs a new plug badly. Got it all cleaned up and ran a tube to a clean tank of gas and tried to start it up. Needless to say I have more to do before it will run. Getting no pressure from the pipe i decided to pull it and see wutt the obstruction was and while trying to remove it loads of rust and cobwebs fell out. lol. yah, its a little constipated. sorry no pics this time. gna get into it again here in a week.

Couple of my buddies had one of those when I was in elementary school, I was always jealous.

Dratv.com also carries a bunch of stuff for those.
